In Anticipation of My Leaving Do
I love England. I love the English. I love the fact that they have the phrase "leaving do" when the closest American equivalent is "party because it's your last day of work."
Mine is tonight. We're closing the office at 4:30 (an hour early!!) and going to an early dinner at Christopher's, a posh American restaurant, in Covent Garden and then going to The Comedy Store to watch stand-up.
Since Bisi couldn't come tonight, she brought in Starbucks treats so we could have a breakfast together. It was sweet.
The best part is that I have two more weeks of work here. For scheduling reasons, we're having it tonight, though. So it'll be like I'm a ghost or a zombie hanging out the office after I've "left."
