The Dark Knight & Psych

Jul 27, 2008 20:07

I wasn't planning on seeing "The Dark Knight" today - I was going to wait until the rain inevitably came back to London. But it turns out that 80+ degree heat without any air conditioning or fans was too much (Actually, I did buy a little clippy desk fan yesterday but it's not big enough at all). Anyway, by 4:00 I needed a break from the sun and the sweat, and I caved. And I was not disappointed.

It was AWESOME!!!

Firstly, it made me homesick to see Chicago Gotham City. I actually saw my dorm at one point, and recognized tons of places. Yay! Secondly, I smiled when I saw Anthony Michael Hall, and I grinned like an idiot when perennial Chicago-cop-actor Ron Dean came on (I've hugged him! And he's hilarious!). But mostly... wow. What a movie!

Heath Ledger was beyond amazing. It makes his tragic death even more tragic. He was just... the perfect villain. Absolutely superb. If The Joker's supposed to be in the next movie, I don't know what they'll do. No one can replace him, unless maybe Jack Nicholson.

My mom said it was pretty violent, but that was coming from my mom. It was violent, but I've seen worse. It was a great follow-up to "Batman Begins." Chris Nolan didn't disappoint.

I also watched, with much patience, Friday's episode of Psych online. It was 43 minutes long but with my shitty computer it took about 5 hours to watch it. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it. It gets me all pumped to finish up my two Psych specs that I've started and left dangling.
