It's funny how quickly one adapts to living in London. Without consciously acknowledging it, I have become suspicious of more than two consecutive days of nice weather. And we've had... wait for it... ALMOST AN ENTIRE WEEK!!!
Aside from yesterday's customs conniption fit, I'm doing well. Since I've returned from Wales I seem to go through waves of homesickness and travel lust. Since Megan is unable to join me for our European Adventure, I continuously oscillate between going by myself (either entirely alone or socialize with others as part of a STA bus tour) and not going at all (which makes sense finance-wise, because I am going to be dirt poor when I come home (new car, car insurance, health insurance, and damn student loans of almost $500/month, plus saving up for the move to LA), but is depressing in that I won't have travelled through Europe. But I can't decide what to do.
I suppose it all boils down to the ultimate grown-up challenge: what you want to do versus what you should do. Since I don't particularly NEED to go to Europe, it's not a necessity... but nothing about living in London has been an absolute necessity. It's been the best experience of my life, and I can't imagine not having done it, but it wasn't necessarily "essential."
Ah, even just writing that I can feel which way my heart is tugging. We'll see what I end up doing, but I think it might be along the lines of: an STA bus excursion through Europe, and then a trip on my own for few days in Spain (staying with Hannah in Malaga & a day trip to Gibraltar). Then traipsing around London the last few days getting all nostalgic and sad and homesick. Oh, and donating a SHITLOAD of things whilst packing.
There's still a week left til payday. Why is July so long? I'm going to see "The Dark Knight" tonight at the £5.50 lastminute.com ticket price, even though I should probably put that £5.50 towards groceries or something important (Oh, and I just saw "Wall-E" on Tuesday - adorable!). Ah well. I can distract myself from hunger with my new DVDs and maybe lose a few pounds. ;-)
