Psyched About "Psych"
For some reason, on Saturday I got a surge of creative/writing/TV motivation. Maybe because it was March 1st, maybe because it was sunny and 50 degrees, or maybe because I realized that in 2 months it'll be 2 years since I've graduated and I have not one TV script to show for it.
Long story short, I am writing a spec script for "Psych." I'm doing it right, though, by watching and re-watching episodes and taking dilligent notes, then organizing those notes, brainstorming, drafting, and running the drafts by my brothers, who are fans of the show and whose comedic voices I highly respect.
YAY! I haven't been this excited in a long time, and I haven't actually written in an even-longer time. I can tell it's going to work because I've already started having Psych dreams and hearing the characters' voices.
I finally went into this cool-looking organic coffee shop on Finchley Road yesterday and had a very productive few hours. It is open until 9PM every day. I think I have finally found my new hangout!
The sun is starting to shine earlier and stay out later, which is doing wonders for my daily moods. Also, it's encouraging because it means spring is just around the corner, and with it new beginnings.
