"I wanna know what turns you on..."

well i don't know how to really start.

i'll start with my night at work. my manager did his little announcement thing like he always does right before we all head to our stations to work. he mentioned some things that most people don't listen to like how many packages are expected to be scanned and linked to the planes, the safety tips of the day, and what not. well this time, he had to mention some things about how people are disrespectful to the other supervisors. and then he also had to mention something about a mishap bag, which in laymen terms mean a bag of packages with a wrong label. he said how important it was to notice labels and all and then he said something about it happening thursday. because of how hectic last week was for me, i don't recall thursday at all- i will move to that subject in a moment. so anyway, we all stretch and then leave to tend to our stations. after a couple of minutes of working, my boss comes up to me and says, "hey, you know that mishap bag i was talking about? well that was in your section." i was a little thrown off by that statement because i remember one of my colleagues holding the mishap bag just yesterday and looking directly at this guy Ian on my line. she even said the bag number... 240 something. well i know for a fact that i worked bags 185-225 all last week and occasionally helped out Ian with his bags. so it wasn't me technically. and cory, the manager, wouldn't truly know who could have done it because 1) he was working a whole different section last week and 2) he knows that we all never stay in one location because we all help each other. so he couldn't write me up about it. but the whole thing pissed me off anyway. i felt like crying. for the past three months, i have been working hard on my line so that i may impress my manager enough to promote me to a management position. my first strike against me was my "lack" of team work. my second strike was the unfortunate call in i had to make last week- details to come. and now, i am "creating" mishap bags on my line. i swear UPS has a fucking vendetta against me.

on a better note, there are a few positive things to mention. even though i may have destroyed all possibility of becoming a supervisor at UPS, i just got a second job to help out with all the other lovely things happening to me. it pays 8 bucks an hour to start with and i started today- technically yesterday. i have now earned the title as production artist. i paint pictures of margarita glasses, sharks swimming in water, palm trees, limes, and shrimp onto slabs of wood that will later be assembled into a $400 chair. the company also paints stools and small tables as well. so far it is a great atmosphere. there is a lot of work to it, but only after time will i adjust to the fast pace of things. i work Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, so basically every other day. i am pulling 28 hours and getting paid every other week. and i love to paint and do artsy stuff, who could ask for a more perfect job? but yeah. i am content with it so far.

the other good thing is that i finally moved into the apartment. sarah, rachel, and i are pretty much settled and it feels like home. i can't wait to get here after work or whatever. i am already that comfortable, but it doesn't take me long to adjust to new living conditions.

so now for last week. i moved in on sunday after having a very long saturday. i went to work, didn't go to sleep afterwards, helped the mudd's move in, took my grandmother all around town and found myself washing clothes in a very restless state. but anyhow, after several hours of aggravating people i finally got to rest. it wasn't until the next day did i notice my car to get really hot. i was a little concerned about driving it but i was told not to worry until it overheats. well, that night on the way to work, i wasn't even half way to my job when the overheating light came on. it was 11:15 and my aunt was already at work. it was technically too late to call in as well. so i called rachel to come get me and take me to work. though they are not allowed, i had to keep my cell on me because i needed to find a way home. so i made several phone calls to the managers asking for some kind of permission to carry it. all of my work to make it to UPS was a waste of time. the managers wouldn't help me get past the gaurd shack which resulted in me calling in. well after that, i found myself stranded at work and no where to go. so i walked several blocks to the other side of UPS on a mission to find my aunt's car. well i quickly learned that there are several parking lots on the way. i ended up walking up and down each row of each parking lot and finally found it. i got in the car, because i had the key, and waited for her to get off from work. four hours later, she finally came out and we went to pick up my car and take it back to the apartment. it didn't overheat on the way home.
the next day. she brought me back to the apartment to take the car down to the dealership to be observed. well the car decided to overheat this time while driving through the middle of town. i ended up having the car towed to the dealership for 55 bucks...well that was thursday when i took it in i believe and i haven't seen my car since. but luckily, my warantee allows me to have a rental for five days. well i am running on time like a car meter. i have one more day.

the sad part is that i don't know what the hell is wrong with the damned car. first, i was told it was a intake manifold leak which had some major repairs, like $1100 worth. then they are telling me that it might just be something as simple as radiator clamps. that is the last freaking thing i heard about it. so now i am going to call them up tomorrow and get some freaking answers. the rental car is very nice, but i miss my old car. all of my stuff is in it and i just feel more relaxed in that car.

well this is a very very long ass entry. there is of course so much more to tell, but it is late. i meant to get on this thing and just write a quick update. should have know better. oh well. so anyway, i must go to bed because tomorrow will be one of the very few days i have left to rest and do absolutely nothing. i must enjoy it while i can. but until next time

ciao
