Heimdall and Loki, first meeting post-(manga)"Ragnarok"

i am cheerfully going to assume that heimdall (and, by extension, narugami) eventually regained his kakusei form, because it'd be rather sad otherwise. also, i am incapable of rationalising heimdall and freyr's mecha madness at the end of the maloki manga, so i cheerfully pretend that it did not happen. or something.

and... i apologise for the lack of 'shipping-ness.

If Loki had been expecting to meet anyone (and he couldn't say that he had; mortality does little for one's optimism) then it would certainly not have been Heimdall. And not here, not like this -- Heimdall glances at Loki's rundown accommodation before looking back at Loki, head tilted slightly, and it takes a few seconds for Loki to recognise the expression. There is triumph, yes, and Loki does not resent that. But there's also the ghost of what could almost be pity, and that is galling ( ... )

thankyouthankyou! it is so long and shiny *_*
Loki's thoughts and their interaction feels very IC, even in their altered states.
Poor Loki (though that seems to be de rigeur in any post-manga situation).
Heimdall gets to win in a way, for once?.

kou-chan and kyouya! wasn't expecting that >_< may take quite a while, apologies

i... i cannot tell if you are mocking my usual response to fic. >_.

but i am glad if you think it feels IC! post-series loki lacks a certain cockiness, and post-series heimdall lacks the anger, so i found it a bit odd writing them.

Heimdall gets to win in a way, for once?.
until he enters the house and fenrir mauls his ankles, yes. ^_^

imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! but seriously, it is longer than I expected, and it is very shiny (tm) indeed, pace Firefly or wherever that description of lovely and impressive things originated

post-series loki lacks a certain cockiness, and post-series heimdall lacks the anger

which is exactly what one would expect, given the change in circumstances ah, I forgot about fenrir :P

it is longer than i expected too, so perhaps we both win. :D what is this Firefly of which you speak?

which is exactly what one would expect, given the change in circumstances
and yet, with so little precedence in canon..!

the fenrir situation is soon settled, but heimdall brings a slab of raw meat the next time he drops by, just in case.

Great TV
show that was unfortunately cancelled. I suspect that a fic with the prompt "speak of Cao Cao would be perfect for this fandom, given its setting.

and one for the snake too, of course. just for old times' sake.

ah, i see. it sounds interesting, though i wonder what the random chinese phrases used were.

and 'shiny' as an old western slang... that's new to me. ^_^;;

naturally. and several bottles of mead, which would cause the fic to eventually satisfy the original meme. :D

chelonian eighth sons of Wong <--- ahaha, that has to be the most interesting translation of the phrase that i've ever seen.

It takes rather too long for Heimdall to shove Loki away. Especially given that Fenrir's being helpful, for once, by tugging at Loki's trouser leg between high-pitched whines of horror.

Loki grins, and there's a long-absent sharpness to the grin that would be reassuringly familiar -- except that this is Loki, and nothing about the situation is reassuring.

"You could never hold your alcohol," Heimdall mutters. But he sounds more disconcerted than outraged, which Loki takes as a sign of encouragement.

merely an excuse for my being lazy to use Babelfish :D

ahaha thank you! even if it is post-main-event :p
love the Lokasenna reference, and it is good to see both of them return to form XD

you're welcome! i am incapable of writing actual kisses; when i do try, it usually goes something like: blah blah blah lots of introspection, oh by the way, they kiss, blah blah blah angst and bad metaphors.
loki just isn't fun when he's not pwning heimdall, i suppose. :D
