briefly laboured under the same delusion as Tamaki, since the first Ric(h)ard that came to mind was Shakespeare's ambiguous portrait of the relationship between second English king of that name and his cousin Henry Bolingbroke aka the future Henry IV (enemy!slash *and* cousincest, at certain key points)- alas for great expectations! XD

ahaha, while i enjoy econs refs, i must admit that a lot of literary refs go over my head! also, er, i have never read any of the history plays. clearly that must be remedied. *_*

Shakespeare's history plays are better watched than read; I recommend Branagh's Henry V, and Fiona Shaw's (Aunt Petunia in the HP films) filmed interpretation of Richard II with not-Ralph-Fiennes!Voldemort of the first movie as Bolingbroke.
