Home is refreshing, even if the weather is complete crap. Finally finished one of the essays, but the second is due in two weeks so I can relax a little. Buildings don't really stand in for mountains, but they make me realize that I couldn't live without being surrounded by something. Sorry, great plains. I miss you already, Utah, Rockies. I miss the magpies and little red-breasted birds hiding in the pines and the way the sky is so much bigger there, as if it could reach down and carry everything away.
Finally figured out that I'm stuck in Concordia for at least another year because of the program's lovely preference for 6-credit courses, two of which are only available next fall. Mmmm.
