wtf
i was on the merge records website checking out info on arcade fire, since i keep hearing about them, like 5 times in the past 2 weeks, and my math professor likes them, and i like my math professor, so by the transitive property, i should like arcade fire, and so while there i clicked on the info for teenage fanclub, because i think i read that a member of arcade fire likes them, and there was some mention of their band member gerard someone-or-other and that got me to thinking about gerard klauder, this guy i went to junior high and high school with; a redhead, a quiet genius, someone i've revered forever and a day, an untouchable, so i googled his name, because i thought, wow, gerard is not a very common name, and i so i found this
and i thought it weird that it said "September 27 1974 - October 22 2006" at the top, and thought it was maybe just his archives through october, until i did a little research and found this which starts with "I'd like to note the passing of two friends, both of whom killed themselves in the last month."
gerard was at our 10-year high school reunion. i took this picture of him the day we got together for drinks at bougainvillea's in south miami:
it's just so bloody weird.
