i am on vacation for a WEEK. i plan to catch up on my grading (because the work is NEVER done) and my grad school homework, and will be switching bedrooms with my roommate. i get to go from 150 to 500 square feet. i'll be shopping for new rugs, and a new living room chair. i'll pick up my refurbished eyeglasses, and maybe take my deteriorating fuzzy slippers to a shoe store to get new soles stitched on. i'll cook up some ratatouille, and catch up on my ironing. i'll visit old friends who are house sitting in brooklyn, and go out dancing. i might get a pedicure. i'll sign up for summer school classes (foundations of geometry and theory of numbers) and drop in on my math professor who i am still hopelessly crushing on. i'll play around with the student schedule software, and drop off both my drycleaning and a pair of pants that need to be hemmed, and take my drums out of storage and set them up. i might even wash some windows. and i'll put together a CD of music that i want to give to each of my students... just some songs that uplift the spirits and inspire me (and them) to keep fighting the good fight. porque "todo me parece bonito"... and hopefully my tax refund will show up soon, along with that promised $600 government kickback, and hopefully, too, i'll go out on some kickass dates.
