After one more day in Paris, tomorrow that is to say, I'll be back in Houston and New Orleans. Really looking forward to it. I was in a bit of a slump for a while there, but I went with a few friends to a house party tonight (Italians always throw the best parties), and I met and talked to lots of people, so that was really nice. They had a huge vat of home-made Sangria--I had one glass because everyone said it was delicious (and it WAS!!) but I am kind of sick, so I made some tea instead. It's actually why a lot of people started up conversations with me--everyone else had plastic cups with Sangria in it and there I was with a coffee mug steeping some Jasmin-Green tea in the middle of it. What are you drinking there? Tea, actually. Oh ya? Why's that? Etc etc. All in French of course! :o) Everyone I meet says I don't have an American accent, but I that have some kind of accent nonetheless. We'll work on it though. Still got another five or six months to go. Can you believe it? Things are definitely way easier now though, communicating. Actually, in retrospect, the most progress I've made so far has been in communicating with French young people (the lower register of the language), but that's just because I was almost incapable of understanding the way young people talked (really fast, all these slang phrases and what not) when I first got here, but they make up the largest proportion of people I speak French with.
I am just rambling. France is fun. Next semester will be different, I think. I'll be more at ease.
Well, see some of you all very soon!
