My first impression of One Direction
Yesterday I watched the full version of MUSIC STATION, which was aired on January 18, 2013. I heard that the internationally-famous boyband One Direction was going to perform on MUSIC STATION, and this got me curious. I have never listen to their songs before, and since I got the opportunity to do so, I decided to grab the chance.
Overall, I was impressed with One Direction. I found them adorable, funny and interesting. I like that some of them stood and clapped after every singers' performance, since this showed that they actually enjoy and appreciate others' performance. I also love that they know how to be playful when the camera zoom-in on them =) Out of all the singers that were present on that day, only Sexy Zone and One Direction seemed to enjoy themselves (unlike other singers, who looked like they did not want to be there at all...).
Unfortunately, other J&A fans did not share the same sentiment as I am. Some of them had started to badmouth One Direction on the internet. They claimed that not only One Direction was cold towards Sexy Zone, but that they also make fun of the group's name and songs. It seems that these fans forgot that One Direction is a British boyband, NOT Japanese boyband. Since Johnny's idols are not that famous outside East Asia, it is only natural that One Direction hardly acknowledge Sexy Zone. Considering that One Direction members do not understand Japanese, it is hard for them to converse with other singers on that show. I can't believe that those fans forget about these facts *sigh*
That reminds me, One Direction's translator sure is annoying. Not only is she loud, but she also translate them as soon as possible, making it harder for others to actually listen to what One Direction's members are trying to say.
It's been a while since the West has a boyband right? There used to be a lot of them during the 1990s, but they lost their popularity during 2000s. I hope that with the emergence of One Direction, there will be more Western boyband in the future. I might not be a One Direction fan (since they are younger than me), but I hope that they will be more successful in the future. In case anyone wonder which One Direction member(s) that I like on first impression, they are Harry Styles and Zayn Malik. Harry's cute face and Zayn's distinguish face managed to catch my attention =) I'm very sorry that the other three members failed to catch my attention (>.<).
P.S: Oh yeah, Marius admitted that he is a fan of One Direction at the end of the show =) No wonder why he kept on interacting with One Direction during the show; he's a fan. He's such a lucky fanboy <3
