A new home

I've been really slack in posting here but here's a recap. We didn't get the first apartment we wanted, since the other party offered more and the seller accepted without letting us make a counter-offer. I was absolutely devastated for a few days and certain we'd never find a place of our own.

A week ago on Sunday N and me nevertheless dragged ourselves to three more showings. First place was very promising but bit out of our price range, the second was in poor condition and bit further from the station and the third renovated weirdly and also too far from the railway station.

We mulled the situation over for the few hours it took us to get back home, then called the realtor and made our offer, 125 000 euros (around 198 000 dollars at the current rate). He called us back the next day and said that if we agreed to pay the thousand euros they still had on their loan, we had a deal.

We agreed, lots of calls and faxes were exchanged and as a result N and me signed our loan papers in the bank yesterday and bought the apartment. Sadly, the place is rented and the lease won't end until August 26. If the tenants happen to find a new flat, they may well move our before that but N and me have to prepare ourselves to living somewhere else for three months. Most likely at our parents', and won't that be fun?

The flat is quite big, 60 square metres and 645 square feet, with a huge kitchen. As we neither cook nor eat in the kitchen all of it goes to waste but the other rooms are quite spacious too and enough for us. Maybe we'll fill the kitchen with cabinets or something.
