work update
I had an actual face-to-face interview earlier today, though only with the external recruitment agency that I did the second video interview for. I got the call yesterday, and accepted the first available slot to get it over with as soon as possible, otherwise I would've panicked about it all weekend.
The interview went well, and wasn't tricky at all. The recruiter didn't ask about my weaknesses or moments where I demonstrated leadership or anything like that, just wanted to go over my CV in more detail. Afterwards she said that she'll recommend me for the final round with the company representatives, but obviously it'll be up to them whether they want to see me. I can expect to hear back either way in the second week of November.
I'm obviously pleased that I did well with her, but very carefully not hopeful about the next step. I don't want to get my hopes up, and I told N not to congratulate me or otherwise make a fuss, because the further I get in the recruitment process, the bigger the blow will be if I get a rejection.
I'll be excited when my name is in a contract, whether with this firm or another. In the meantime, I appreciate all the good vibes and hugs that have been sent my way :)
