Jin leaving Kat-Tun

Since I've picked up a few friends that are into Kat-Tun I figured I should post a little on the big news especially since there is no way I would jump into the fray of comments in some of the Kat-Tun communities. I'm sometimes amazed at peoples devotion to things like this @_@ Since I'm a fairly new Kat-Tun fan it is a little disappointing that they are breaking up. Still I'm not heartbroken about it. I enjoyed NMP and as I commented on the album review I enjoyed the fact that the other members got more of a chance in the songs compared to when all six of the members are together. I don't dislike Jin but at the same time I'm not a huge Jin fan either.

I think what he is doing is stupid. I doubt he will become a huge hit in the US there are very few successful Asian artists in the US unfortunately. I'm not even sure if any of them are in music at all. I also doubt that he will ever pull in the kind of numbers Kat-Tun does in Japan.

I will continue support of Kat-Tun but as for Jin it is still up in the air. I dislike the arrogance of pitching his group over the side for a solo career. All of Kat-Tun do their own things but still remain part of the group Jin isn't. Whether it is his choice or Johnny's, Jin has left the group twice affecting albums/concerts/singles so I wouldn't blame the owner of the group giving him the boot. The others do their own activities but don't miss whole albums and concerts for their solo projects. I would feel that way even about Ueda who is my favorite Kat-Tun member. If he comes back then I will be happy if not then that is that. I can say that right now Gackt and Kat-Tun(the group) are still the only artists that I will still fork over money for. Jin isn't part of that now unless he turns out so mind blowing music, which I wouldn't call any of his solo songs that. His voice is ok and so are his songs but they aren't something special enough to pay the high cost of Japanese music and international shipping.
