So, I finished watching Fringe!
PARALLEL UNIVERSES! ARMIES WITH BORING OUTFITS! PACEY'S DAD IS CRAZY! LENS FLAAAAAAAAARES!
That's pretty much all I've got! Okay, no. First of all, I was reading an article about the show being renewed and someone was like "Peter was boring until his plot twist". And I was like "um, Peter is AWESOME, you dumbass" and "GREAT THANKS FOR THE SPOILAGE!" I am sure I would not have figured it out as quickly as I had if I hadn't read that comment but as soon as he picked up the toy and was like "that's funny, I remember the scar always being on the other side?" I was like OMG PARALLEL!PETER! Because I watch TV. Still, it's kind of delicious because he's going to be sooooooooo pissed when he finds out and I bet Parallel!Walter is still pissed off about Regular!Walter stealing his kid, no?
Also, SPOCK! HI SPOCK! PLZ DON'T REALLY BE EVIL! I am so confused about the whole warriors who wear boring colors deal. And of course Sydney Olivia is a Chosen Special One. I feel like JJ is playing out all the things he wanted to on Alias but couldn't because he set that show up as too reality-based at first so when he went all crazy voodoo on us, we were like WTF??!? Fringe is fucking crazy from the beginning.
I actually found the Olivia/John stuff very affecting. It was an interesting way to have her solve the mystery of what he was doing and kind of romantic in a way.
And of course I adore the Bishops to pieces. Walter is like House in that he is kind of a jerk to people because of being a crazy genius on drugs but in a way that's not a fucking dickhead that I want to punch all the time. And Peter is like "what if Pacey's dad that was a mad scientist! And Pacey was really really smart!" Still kind of a snarky jackass with no direction but lovable anyway. Maybe it was just hanging out with Dawson that drained him of his high IQ.
I laugh at people who complain about the science being bad because I am too stupid to notice, so it doesn't bother me at all. But I think that if you are going to watch a show like this, you better check your brain at the door or you are pretty much going to be ragey all the time. And really, just look at the Pacey pretty and marvel at how crazy JJ and those Star Trek writer guys are. It's much more enjoyable that way.
Of course, right when I decided to watch the show, they announced it's moving to Thursdays against SPN. However, that puts it right after Bones, which means like 75% of the shows I want to watch will all be on the same night. TIME SAVER!
Anyone else watching Fringe? I didn't see a lot of talk about it on my flist but apparently it was the #1 new show in the 18-35 demo, which is why it got renewed so quickly. So some of ya'll have got to be watching it, right?
