Scanlation recommencing!

Hello! This is just a heads up to let those waiting know that scanlation of the third volume of Shinkuu Yuusetsu is underway. Raws for editing have yet to be scanned, but the volume has been obtained and I finished translating the first of four chapters today

Haha, that's ok, I try to say what I would be curious about as a reader, so I was actually going to elaborate on that only...couldn't figure out how to say it concisely so left it out, hahaha.

I mean like the scanning (need to rescan a chapter from volume 1, and then I think all of volume 3) and the editing and QCing. Before another group was asking to joint on it, so I'll definitely be talking to them first but it's been a long while so I don't know if they'd still be interested. But... I know they were going to do the editing but I can't remember if we were doing the scanning and QCing or them, don't know if I'd rather pick that part up or ask them to do it... And then if they aren't interested anymore, don't know if I'll just ask an old editor, find an new one, scan myself or send to someone else... Since I'm not as interested in it as I was and it's all translated I'd bet I could find some other group to just drop all the books/raws and translations off with and tell them they could scanlate it themselves, only while that'd be the least work for me... then there's always the chance the other group will flake out and not finish it, and that'd be sort of sad so I'm kind of resistant to that, but... Being all naggy boss lady on disappearing editors is probably the least fun part of this so I'm not really looking forward to any option that has a lot of that, either...

Basically, the more work I take on myself the more I can ensure it actually gets finished, but the less I take on the more I can do other projects I'm more interested in, hehe. ^_^; (Though gosh, it's been so long since I read it now I don't actually remember exactly how interesting it was or wasn't! I think I liked some of the stuff in the third volume best, though...)

No, but it's good you elaborated for us, I for one appreciate it. But if I may again, ask which project was translated but just needed editing? Or was there more than one? >///< I think I missed that part, lol.
I hear ya about bein resistant to pass on your babies, it would be very sad if they were dropped altogether =(

And I'm sorry but rofl @naggy boss lady! ...Umm, why not just post a request and if editors decide to re-appear on their own then you don't have to be naggy and if not, then you get brand spankin new editors, woohoo! Lol. I mean that's just a suggestion of course >.<

Sensei no Susume is translated but needs editing. Shinkuu is still in the process of being translated (though it will need an editor after that. for that one though I'll definitely get back in touch with an old editor, and if they aren't available just find a new one).

The brand spakin new editors is the problem, actually. XD Very commonly a new editor will stay around and work at the agreed pace for...maybe a chapter and half? ^_^; Then...life gets in the way, they ask for a bit more time and I will say that's fine without giving them much trouble about it cause it happens to all of us and I'm not a jerk, but then it keeps happening and then after a while they don't even answer emails anymore and then you've got to send out an email warning them you'll have to look for someone else if they don't reappear, give them ample time to answer since (giving them the benefit of the doubt) they are likely busy, then start the whole thing over again.

...And that's not even getting into the times you end up getting someone who despite having experience turns out not to know how to do certain Photoshop things and needs to get trained/have it explained for them through email, which is a crappy way to explain something like that. Plus I only learned everything I know about scanlation editing from a very simple guide anyway, so I'm not the best person to learn from. XD

So yeah. Basically, with a project I'm still totally into like Shinkuu, I'll brave the possibility of going through that again without much thought, hahaha. With something I'm not as enthusiastic about like Sensei no Susume...that's a lot of email tag and potential frustration for something I'm not crazy about. (The worst part is when all the back and forth take up more time and effort than it would have been to edit the thing myself, hahaha.) So...I consider other options, hehe.
