I'm pleased to be a Special Guest GM at the July 16th
Good Omens Con at
Endgame Oakland.
Time: Morning (10am-2pm)
Game System:
Don't Rest Your Head Scenario Name: Things Forbidden and Desirable
GM: Carl Rigney
Variations: n/a
Power Level: Insomniacs with Mad Power
Number of Players: 4
Characters provided? Created at session
Description: Ever read a book so good you just couldn't go to sleep even though you know you should? Everything that's bad for you can be found on the streets of the Mad City, where sleep means death or worse at the claws and teeth of Nightmares chasing you, so of course that's exactly where A Forbidden Book from the Free People's World Tree Library has escaped to, and it's up to you to stop things that need stopping. Beginners welcome, system will be taught.
About This Game: Don't Rest Your Head is Fred Hicks' masterpiece of nightmare fun. The Free People's World Tree Library is from Kelly Link's
"Magic for Beginners", about the best TV show you never saw but wish you had.
Time: Afternoon (3pm-7pm)
Game System:
Monsterhearts Scenario Name: Attitudes and Feelings both Desirable and Sometimes Secretive
GM: Carl Rigney
Variations: n/a
Power Level: Teen Monsters
Number of Players: 4
Characters provided? Created at session
Description: You're not most teenagers, there's wickedness that dwells within your chest; darkness courses through your delicate veins. Most teenagers will never know that things like you exist in this backwater small town: the secret monsterhearts. Mature themes. System will be taught, beginners welcome.
About This Game: Inspired by Apocalypse World, Twilight, True Blood, Ginger Snaps, and that sort of messy, sexy thing, this is an advance peek at the new game by Joe McDaldno, author of Perfect, Gun Thief, and Ribbon Drive.
Sign-ups will probably go live around mid-June. I'll also be at
Kublacon Memorial Day Weekend near SFO and possibly
Fabricated Realities in Olympia the weekend after that.
