I'm plugging for my friend (and fellow Markeroon and bookcrosser)
whytraven here.
First, there is an abandoned cat in her neighborhood who needs a home.
She writes, "Speedy needs a home -- The no-kill shelters can't take her.
She's a pure-bred, feisty, vocal, funny and very vulnerable Siamese who's been without a real human for three months.
She is lonely enough to come running in the morning and to let me pick her up and cuddle her. She will nudge the laptop off your lap when you sit laptopping on the deck.
She is threatened by other animals, and most humans, but seems to have a cat lover detector.
She is about eight or nine years old, maybe a bit older. She has been indoor/outdoor. She could probably get used to one cat: I know she hangs out with another cat here.
Seriously. If anyone knows a somebody who is reliable and loving, this cat deserves a human. She is so damn lonely. Please pass it on."
(The post where she mentions this is public in her journal, so you could respond to her, or to me (or to
fancyhorse, and we will pass it on. There may also be some (not a lot, but some) money available for travel/relocating the kitty who is currently in the Silicon Valley area of California.)

Second, she is part of a writing contest --
"In a fit of whimsy earlier this week I wrote this entry about the motorcycle-o-matic robot.
It is now voting time and up for grabs is a Roomba robot, which will probably have a fit when it sees my floor. But after this, the grand prize is a month's worth of linkage from the home page of PayPerPost which, no matter what you think about the subject, is a lot of much-needed exposure.
If you would vote, I would be very grateful. I think I am blog #24 and you have to pick me from the voting widget at the bottom. Voting ends on Monday at noon Eastern.

When I voted, she was in 4th place. I'm hoping that things go well both in the contest and in re-homing the delightful Siamese kitty.
