books and german
so I finally finished reading The Silmarillion last night. It's a lot different from The Lord of the Rings because you don't really get to know the characters, it's like the telling of a history. Though some parts were really interesting (especially near the end) all the parts about the landscape and how it changed were dull. Still though, I'm glad I read it, especially since I am about to embark on The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
one more random note. they interviewed a British guy that speaks German at work yesterday. he came into our office after i had already left and read my German phrases of the moment that I have scrawled on out white board. He added this: "Nicht heute Liebling. Ich habe Kopfschmerzen!" Translation: "Not today darling. I have a headache!" I hope we hire him.
back to the same routine for 22 more days.
