more than you ever wanted to know.
Father went to college: in shanghai, china, at the henry lester institute. majored in engineering. anyone surprised? didn't think so.
Father finished college: nope. he had a chance to come to the states soon after WWII ended, and when he settled and sent for transcripts, the school had been bombed.
Mother went to college: nursing school, till her mom got sick, and then had to quit to take care of her. then her folks and my dad's folks cooked up this matchmaking thing between them, and that was the end of that.

Have any relative who is an attorney, physician, or professor: not that i know of.
Were the same or higher class than your high school teachers: maybe, but we were all sort of at the bottom, class-wise.
Had more than 50 books in your childhood home: blissfully, yes. and most of them were mine!
Had more than 500 books in your childhood home: sadly, no. got 'em now, though!
Were read children's books by a parent: only by my mom, but after she got sick when i was 7ish or 8ish, i was on my own.
Had lessons of any kind before you turned 18: i tried ballet in maybe 1st or 2nd grade, but had no concept that it was lessons. i thought i was just hanging out in a friend's basement. then we got a bill, and i stopped dancing. i also tried guitar several years later, but because i wasn't advancing fast enough for my cheapskate dad, he pulled me out after 4 months or so.

The people in the media who dress and talk like me are portrayed positively: like me, how, exactly? jewish? to-smart-for-their-own-good? pagan? buddhist? queer? trans? fat? bald? bearded? argueably insane? on psych meds? terminally unemployed? i don't think so, on any account.
Had a credit card with your name on it before you turned 18: yeah, right. i didn't get one of those till i was in my 30s.

Went to a private high school: only because if i'd stayed in the public school i'd have been beaten to death by my classmates, as the teachers cheered them on.
Went to summer camp: does one week of a 2-week brownie camp count? and then there was the one summer i went to day camp, only to come down with pneumonia in the 3rd week of a 4 week session. it made me miss the first week of overnight camp, that i got kicked out of in the 3rd week of its 4 week session. so, i guess the answer is; sorta.

You and your family lived in a single family house: yes, but only because HE didn't trust anyone we might have had as roommates/boarders.

Had your own TV in your room in High School: hells, no! barely was allowed to watch the one black and white set we had in the living room.
Owned a mutual fund or IRA in High School or College: HA! like he'd trust me with money!
Flew anywhere on a commercial airline before you turned 16: nope. first flight was to visit my mom's mom just after i graduated high school at 17, but even that got screwed up- HE made me reschedule, and she died before i got there.

Your parents took you to museums and art galleries as you grew up: once in a while, till i was 10. then mom got too sick to go anywhere, and dad was too busy and bitter to have any fun.
You were unaware of how much heating bills were for your family: i was unaware of all of the family finances. i knew they were something to be upset over, but it was never explained to me why, or what to do about it.
