So, I figured it was about time for one of my upcoming movies posts.
First and formemost:
3 movies with Gerard Butler!!!
-
P.S I Love You(although it looks like he plays a disappointingly small role for one of the main characters) - based on a book about a husband who leaves behind 10 letters for his widow to help her through her grief, stars Hilary Swank, no trailer as yet but you can view two attempts at it
here and
here . Ironically his name in the film is Gerry Kennedy. Release date: sometime in 2007
-
Butterfly on a Wheel, a thriller about a husband and wife(Gerry and Mario Bello) whose perfect family dynamic is destroyed when a sadistic kidnapper(Pierce Brosnan) kidnaps their only child and sets out systematically destroying their lives. I wouldn't watch it if it had anyone else but Gerry, but it actually sounds interesting...Release date: Somewhere in the middle of 2007.
-I'm not going to mention 300 because everyone already knows about that, but he also has two other films, neither of which I'm too excited about-
Therese Raquin and
Priest.
Secondly,
Miss Potter. Starring two of my favorite actors, Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor(for their second onscreen pairing, the other being that delightfully fun and fluffy film
Down with Love-as a couple they have exquisite chemistry) it tells the tale of Beatrix Potter, the writer of some of the most beloved children's books of all time, the Peter Rabbit series. It looks like a mix of Findding Neverland and Nanny McPhee with a dash of romance, and I'm dying to see it. Trailer
here. Release date: It's already out but only playing in limited theaters- don't ask me why, I already checked the one and only theater near me and it's not playing, as yet at least, so I'm not sure I will get to see it in the theater, which makes me ANNNGRRRY.
Thirdly,
Catch and Release, starring none other than Jennifer Garner!(Ever since Alias one of my beloved actresses, although i admit that 13 Going on 30 was a miss) about a woman whose life changes after her husband/fiance?(it's rather unclear) dies suddenly and she begins to find out some of his secrets. Romantic comedy, looks lovely. Trailer
here. Release date: Jan 26th.
Also
-
I Could Never Be Your Woman, a romantic comedy starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd(he of the cuteness and obscurity)
trailer
here-
Stardust, a romantic fantasy/adventure based on a novel by Neil Gaiman and starring Claire Danes(another actress whom I admire), Charlie Cox, Sienna Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert de Niro and narrated by Ian McKellan. No trailer as yet, release date July 27 2007.
-
The Italian, which I wish I could see but have no doubt that the theater near me will not show as it's only a limited release.
There are also, of course:
- Spiderman 3,
-Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer, trailer
here, coming out in June 2007, and
-
The Kingdom, starring Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner, looks good, trailer
here and comes out April 20.
And that's it for this broadcast!
