Well, The Prestige trailer is out, for those who like magicians and/or Hugh Jackman/Christian Bale you can watch it here. And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the second movie in six months that Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johanssen have starred in together, the other being Woody Allen's Scoop? I love both of them, but to be honest I don't think they have a terrible amount of chemistry, and I am definitely against that kind of repetitiveness, at least in this movie. I don't want Hugh Jackman to play again the sort of clueless, good-hearted, but in the end ineffectual type of character he did in Scoop, I want something more along the lines of Wolverine. Nor do I want Scarlett playing again the sort of concerned-but-not-passionate love interest that she did in Scoop-I like that movie but it has it's flaws. And it looks like maybe they will.

Also, 25 essential songs: I only have a few but unfortunatley wouldn't know how to upload them even if I did. I'm sure I could figure out sendspace but as I only have about two of these, having heard the rest on Rhapsody, I can't be bothered.
  1. Always on Your Side, featuring Sting, by Sheryl Crow.
  2. The One to Walk You Home, Kimmie Rhodes
  3. Comfortably Numb, Dar Williams
  4. Like We Never Loved at All, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw
  5. Tell Me Now (What You See), Moya Brennan
  6. Dreaming of You, Selena
  7. All I Know, Art Garfunkel-listen to it three times over. Then see if you don't love it.
  8. Fields of Gold, Sting
  9. 10,000 Miles, Mary Chapin Carpenter
  10. I'm Sensitive, Jewel
  11. Angel, Sarah McLachlan
  12. If You're Not the One, Daniel Bedingfield
  13. What Hurts the Most, Rascal Flatts. One of those compulsive songs that doesn't die after hundreds of sessions.
  14. What If We Went to Italy, Mary Chapin Carpenter
  15. I Could Fall, Evan and Jaron
  16. When You Say Nothing at All, Allison Krauss
  17. Hollow, Hem
  18. On Your Wings, Iron and Wine
  19. Come Away with Me, Norah Jones
  20. My Little Girl, Tim McGraw
  21. Nocturne, Secret Garden-incredibly haunting and musical
  22. Time After Time, Tara Morice(love the lyrics mostly-done by Baz Luhrmann)
  23. Always There, featuring Russell Watson, by Secret Garden(uploaded by

  24. All Mixed Up, Red House Painters-give it a chance. You may find yourself liking it.
  25. Tonight I Wanna Cry, Keith Urban
Also, my Yeats selection of the day, from Before the World Was Made;

"Why should he think me cruel
Or that he is betrayed?
I'd have him love the thing that was
Before the world was made."

I love that-not to love all the surface things, personality, looks, body, background-but the thing 'that was before the world was made'-the deep innner being in all of us, quite apart from all the outer, visible things-what you might possibly call a soul, or our heart and soul and mind combined, that being apart from the world. I wish I could be loved like that-for that-deeply and surely, with the outer, added things just a bonus, what we interact with and know daily but all the while knowing and loving that seperate, individual person inside.
