Guh. I love Bones. I want to watch it! Two more weeks...counting the days. If any of you out there are sadly deprived of Bones or like the show, here are two absolutely lovely music videos of Booth and Brennan-At Your Side and So Beautiful. Also a clip from the most recent episode-You Got Blown Up and another clip in which Bones is high on ( Read more... )

I saw the pilot of Bones last week.
I quite liked it (I called my bf after the ep finished, and asked "Did you see my new favourite show?") - TV Tempe is quite similar in manner to the Book Tempe that exists in my head. I was a little disappointed that they'd moved the setting (no chance of meeting Ryan!), and was intrigued by the scenes featuring alcohol, seeing as she's a recovering alcoholic in the books.
Have you read the books? I really like them - I'd highly recommend them (if you're a reader)

No, I haven't. Are they really good? Most books which they make tv shows out of/are based on tv shows aren't good at all. But I am a reader so maybe I should try them.

I really, really like the books - there are 8, I think (maybe 9?). Kathy Reichs is one of my favourite authors.

Like I said, the way Tempe behaves is similar in the books and tv show, she's still a forensic anthropologist, and she has an ex-husband Pete, but that's about it - the universes are quite distinct.

Book-Brennan is more like in her 40s. She splits her time between Montreal (mostly) and North Carolina - as well as doing a bit of jet setting (Mexico, Israel). She has a cat, and a college-aged daughter (though we don't see too much of her). I don't know that there would be much overlap of story-lines. The pilot was not a story that appeared in a book (as far as I remember!).

You can read some excerpts here - see if you like her writing style.

I caught the last five or six episodes of Bones before the end of last season - very clever stuff.

I lean forward in my seat when I'm really into a movie. I do this even in theaters. It's pretty funny.

I lean forward too^_^ although I don't think in theaters, and I have this wierd compulsion to sit really close to the screen, like only a couple of feet away. It's probably a subconscious thing-I'm nearsighted and so I feel like I can see better if I'm closer even if I really can't as I'm wearing glasses. :D Fortunately the sreen is so huge in theaters that I don't have that compulsion.
