Gah. Just finished watching the BBC Pride and Prejudice. I've seen it at least ten times, and yet I always manage to foget how absolutely, positively lovely it is. After judicial consideration and after re-watching both since the new one came out I have reached the conclusion that the old one is about a billion times better. Don't get me wrong-I ( Read more... )

Hi! *waves*

but I'm wondering why movie producers don't more often put guys in open-necked long-sleeved white shirts plus-wearing black gloves-and being drop-dead gorgeous and have them fight a duel(whether it's a mock one or not).

You are perfectly right! [imagine CF's voice] :D

Btw, just that you know, I do not like the new film at all. I think they messed up the script. But I give you leave to like it, even when it makes me cringe everytime I think of it. *cringe*
See ya! :D

Hee! I give you leave to dislike it, which makes us even-*laughs* The main reason that I liked was because I'd read all about beforehand so I knew all the somewhat treasonous changes and additions that they were going to make to the script, so I'd already gotten over a lot of my outrage, and I'd decided to watch it as much as possible just as a movie-not as the movie based off the book or even so much the Pride and Prejudice storyline. I knew that under those conditions I'd be able to enjoy it so I made myself think of it as just a movie with some vague resemblance to the book and BBC film-not the real article. Soo, that's why I like it(not to mention it really is very good if you take it as a stand-alone movie)And yes-the vision of CF in that scenario is quite breathtaking.:D Nice to have you around! BIG welcome.

P.S-I can just picture you giving me leave to like the new movie in the exact tone of voice with which Lizzy gave Jane leave to like Mr. Bingley, saying airily,"you've liked many a stupider person". :D *Chuckle*

I actually saw it twice in the cinema. The first time I went alone, because I was so curious and the second time I went with two friends of mine, who had no clue whatsever about P&P, and they ADORED it. (Their only P&P expierience being Bridget Jones Diary.)
Of course afterwards we sat together and had a long but-it-should-have-been-that-and-that-way conversation. ;)
Unfortunately they both are not so good in English to enjoy the 95 version. I am really happy that in 2007 there will be a new dubbed and uncut German version to spread the Darcy-love. *g*

Nice-that makes me happy too. The more people to spread the love the better. Your icon makes me happy as well:D She's got such a GORGEOUS smile.
