Myspace is down so this is what I have been up to

I hate it when shit doesnt work. In India most things don't work. The power already went of twice today.

Last weekend we went to see the Taj Mahal and things up in Delhi, Agra and Jaypur. It was a grueling trip. We had a driver but we hired him for the weekend and he wasn’t as good as Singh. Then we had tour guides that came along with us and told us about everything. They were just alright. The way things work here is basically screw the foreigners so every place we went to was a hell of a lot cheaper for Indians. It pisses me off because for the Taj it was 20 rupees for Indians and 750 for others. All the other places were like that but not to that extent.

The Taj was not all that great. It was a building. I know its so symmetrical and cost so much money but I went saw and was not aww struck.

I did get to go on an elephant ride. It had to be the highlight of the trip. We walked up onto this platform and sat on its back. I got pictures so hopefully they come out.

I have seen so many animals; in Agra they use a lot of camels for the work so they are all over the place. There are ox and horses, sheep, dogs, pigs, roaming around the streets. I have seen a lot of monkeys too.

We got back on Sunday and for the next few days didn’t really do much except shop a little bit.

On Thursday we drove the Malabalapuram and it was fun driving through the country. You see all these little villages with houses made from palm branches. There are fields where the women are working and they are wearing their saree’s that are so bright its jut beautiful with the green.

We got to our resort and we got Villas right on the beach. I could walk out my front door 100 feet and be in the Bay of Bengal. It was off season so its like the beach was almost all ours. It may be the most relaxing place I have ever been. We walked up and down the beach and there were tons of colorful little fishing boats. It was so wonderful I never wanted to leave.

We went on a boat ride to see the temples that are underwater. It was a little frightening because the water was really rough. Once we got farther out it was calmer. You could just see the very top of the temple, it looked almost black with all the seaweed and growth on it. The waves were crashing up against it. After that I was covered in salt water so I went and changed before my horse ride along the beach. The entire vacation was so amazing. I could have stayed on my hammock hearing and watching the waves crash in forever.

We went to Pondicherry we went to a paper factory we got a tour though the entire thing it was astonishing to see all these huge sheets of paper drying in so many colors. In the factory everyone was barefoot. Its strange to see people working and being barefoot or wearing sandals, even for construction work. The women wear saree’s to work.

On our way home we stopped at this amusement part that was on the this place called the golden beach it wasn’t that exciting but I kind of got my first taste of what it’s like to be a celebrity. So for most of this trip people are staring at us all the time but we are in a big city so there are other white people here. At that park and in the little villages we past we were probably the only white people the Indians have ever seen. So at the park everyone is looking at us and all the people keep coming up and asking if I will take a picture with them. They are so excited. Then when my family would stop to take pictures there would be people taking more pictures of us and video taping us. It was out of control.
