teenage time warp
so I have a back brace to help w some of the issues I have post surgery...and to add to that now my acne is going crazy again. bad teen time warp.
when I was in hs I had terrible cystic acne. I was on several diff meds & finally on several rounds of accutane. accutane has some
terrible side effects - I would probably never go on it now but it did mostly cure my cystic acne. since them I've also been on a lot of other acne meds-it's a constant battle. for 2-3 months it'll be ok & then flare up.
I went to a new derm bc my old derm quit practicing - after I went to another dr in the same practice who basically said if the new topical he gave me didn't work he would rec I go back on accutane :( I wanted to get another opinion.
the derm prescribed a med that after researching I refuse to take-spirolactane in case y'all battle acne & have heard of it. it's 'off label' for acne (used as a diuretic) w some bad side effects - black box labeled by the FDA & can't take NSAIDs w it-which I can't do bc I'm still taking 800mg of rx ibuprofen 2x/day of I have a day when I'm
stiff/in pain. so I gave that a big hell no!
instead they called me in Bactrim which is a heavy duty antibiotic - which I am also not keen on. i can take very few antibiotics & this is one that is used to treat heavy duty stuff-MRSA!! along an rx face wash...which is supposed to work together.
i am so tired of this battle! 30 and acne isnt pretty. and the doc said yep you have been on everything-as much as I want to have clear skin its not worth the risk of some of these drugs :/
