So I did get the Pilot internship.
I am designing for their community tabloids (which are inserted into each edition of the paper) in their VA Beach office, which means I'm commuting an hour there and back. But it's going to be cool, I think, and I'm already learning new skills, like DTI and InCopy.
But the best part: I get PAID. Not a lot, but paid, just the same. I'm pumped.
In other news, school is going pretty well. Yesterday Ryan and I painted a lot for watercolor class, while Mark and Ashleigh painted for fun. I still need to read for Cather class but that's normal.
My section sorta fell apart this week, I hope I can put it back together.
The other day we watched Junebug at Paul's house. It was sooooooooooooooooo friggin good. Everyone see it.
A bunch of us are going to go to formal for fun. I'm pumped. I'm going to wear a cocktail dress. I will probably buy some new heels when I get my next paycheck(s).
Mark's birthday is coming, which is so exciting!
Internship application deadlines are coming, which is not exciting! I may apply for a couple jobs in St. Louis, which I would hope they'll fill before May, but if they don't, it could be kinda cool. One is for features reporting and the other is fashion reporting.
I may have already lost my new jump drive. I'm seriously kicking myself. I have searched. My dad was like, "amber, that was a $70 jump drive." So yeah.
Corny moment: when I started at this school as a journalism major, I was so friggin apprehensive. I remember thinking "maybe if I work hard enough, I can be arts and entertainment editor someday. and what if, what if, I could intern at the Daily Press." The Pilot never even occurred to me as possible. So I just kinda passed a landmark goal.
Remember that time I left Wise b/c I didn't want to be in the country anymore? My roommate is blasting and singing country music at the top of her lungs. These Nova kids are so weird.
