I'm applying to the Virginian-Pilot for a design internship.
or in other words
I'm getting my ass handed to me.
Dr. Lee thinks I could do it; I think he's high.
And I'm nervous, soooo nervous. Because I want it, and it's easier to brag about yourself in cover letters when you aren't afraid you're underqualified. The most bankable skill I have a desire to learn and the fact I learn quickly.
But I am lacking some skills I seriously, seriously need for that profession. And I can't help but feel sorrow at the idea that post-grad, I have to pick one: design or writing. I can't do both. I can only do one. And I genuinely am torn between which to choose.
In other news, I might interview Ralph Stanley when he plays my campus next week. My angle is going to be: "Ralph, what the fuck are we both doing here when we both know fall is prettier at home?"
Schedule for the next week:
Monday: more of senior sem is due
Tuesday: art history test, satire draft, my 21st birthday
Wednesday: immersion draft due
Thursday: art history paper due
Friday: pop culture paper due.
Pages I will write in the coming week: 50.
