This week has been phenomenal! Seriously. My schedule still has me running around like a crazy person, but it's been really pleasant this week. I've had dinner in the city twice this week, which is more than I've gotten to do in a while, and everything I've done has just been fun. I'm really hoping the fun continues. I am notorious for spring fever, and I have the very strong feeling that if / when it sets in this year it is going to be extremely bad. I am attempting to stave it off by having experiences like I have had this week.
Monday night was dinner with V. We decided to drive into the city, and I took him to an Ethiopian restaurant. He's never had Ethiopian and I've been craving it for weeks now, so I took advantage of the fact that I'm more cultured than he is and insisted. We parked a few blocks away, and had a nice stroll through Adams Morgan. The sky kept threatening rain, but none came until we actually started driving home. It was so nice to be able to just walk around the city! It reminds me of why I love living here! Also, the food was fabulous. Then again, their food is always fabulous, which is why I continue to go there.
Tuesday night I was just a giant kid. I finally managed to get a night all to myself this month. Seriously, it was the first day all month so far where I could come home and do nothing, and I loved it. I played on the playground outside for about an hour. I love the fact that I'm short enough so that I can still hang upside-down on the monkey bars. Tee hee! After that I went inside and crashed on the couch. I just fell asleep to a marathon of America's Next Top Model (cycle 2) and stayed there until RIna came home and woke me up. I loved it! It was so refreshing to just take a quiet night and recharge myself.
Wednesday night I went back into the city with Kermit. We had some errands to run in the same general area, so we decided to head out to Dupont together. We walked around a little, found a charming little bakery on P St. that I am now completely fascinated with. Dinner was at Teaism, which I haven't been to in ages! (Note to self: must make it a point to get in to the city more often!) Plus, I love how these little dates Kermit and I have are turning out to be weekly events.
Tonight it will be off to McGinty's to celebrate Rina's birthday. Also, there is a bachelorette party on Saturday night. Expect a picture post in the next couple of days!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RINA! YAY 22!
