Social Butterfly: (n) a very sociable person who flits from one social event to another

"Social Butterfly" is the only term I can think of to properly describe my life lately.  I've been going from one thing to the next, and there does not appear to be a break in sight at the moment.  This is not a complaint, mind you.  It's just a lot to take in all at once.

With the completion and strike of The Monologues, I had planned on spending a few quiet nights this week just relaxing, and letting some of the inevitable bruises heal.  Instead, I received a very unexpected e-mail from
pidgehuss who informed me that she and The Boy would be coming into town for the weekend.  AWESOME!  I haven't seen her in almost a year, and I always miss her when she's not around.  So I rearranged some things to make sure I could see her.  We met up for dinner and drinks on Saturday night.  I met The Boy.  He is so nice, and they are so freaking cute together!  I think that's a good thing, considering she told me to dust off my fancy shoes.  She then produced her left hand to show off an extremely gorgeous ring of a certain nature.  At that point I believe I squealed, told The Boy to get up so I could hug him, then told him to move so I could hug her.  The whole scene was quite amusing, and I was told to be prepared to see another friend join the smug marrieds some time next spring.  CONGRATULATIONS PIDGE!  Love you!  I also got to see her, The Boy, and
fielchimera earlier this week for food.  We met up in Georgetown, and ended up going to "The Vegetarian Kitchen."  It's this fabulous little second-story restaurant on M St which serves Indian food.  I have never had Indian food before, but The Boy turned out to be very knowledgeable in all things Indian cuisine, and helped me pick out an absolutely incredible dish.  Seriously, I'm liking The Boy more and more.  Fiel looked absolutely fabulous, and it was so good to see her.  I really enjoy her sense of humor, and she always has great things to talk about.  Plus, I take a little glee in the fact that someone out there can joke about children with me, and not always think I'm going straight to hell.

I had made tentative plans with Fiel to have dinner at my favorite Ethiopian restaurant for Monday night, but that fell through.  Normally I would have just gone home, but we had been talking about it so much the previous night that I was simply craving it.  I called up The Woolly Wonder to see if he wanted to have dinner.  (I know, that name is a blast to the past...)  He ended up being free, and he lives right around the corner from the restaurant, so met up.  It was great to see him again, and I love that we always have great stuff to talk about.  Plus, he makes things so relaxed.  After dinner we hung out at his apartment for a little while.  We listened to opera, played with his cats (who apparently hate every guest except me...he thinks I'm some sort of cat whisperer now), and had one of the crudest conversations I've had in a long time!  I love the dichotomy of this man!  On one hand we're listening to opera, talking about great composers and musicians.  On the other hand he's making fart jokes!  Seriously, one of my favorite guys ever!

Last night was fairly low-key.  Legs didn't have to work, which was nice because we actually got to see each other during the week.  That almost never happens.  We went downtown for dinner and stopped in to borders to pick up some movies.  We're on this classics kick.  We're trying to build a collection of all the truly great old movies starring all the truly classic Hollywood stars.  Last night we added "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" to our collection.  (This is one of my personal favorite old movies.  In fact, I couldn't believe Borders even had it!  By the way, if you have any suggestions, let me know.  We're constantly adding to our lists...From there we celebrated Martis Gras our way, and had a lot of fun doing it.  Seriously, I love my roommate!

As for the rest of the week, I believe the plan for tonight is dinner with Magpie, and tomorrow I'm having dinner with Kermit.  Friday I get to head north and pick up Zippy!  That's right!  She's done!  She's fixed!  Life is good, baby!  Saturday V and I are going out to dinner, and then we're going to see "Twelfth Night" at Firebelly Productions.  That should prove to be an interesting night...

That's all for now.
