Energetic Colors
About a week ago I woke up and realized it was starting to be Fall. Normally the sudden change in temperature and the appearance of a chilly rain would tip me off to this, but I was somewhat oblivious to that this year. Neither did the changing of the trees from the view of my apartment catch my attention. I figured out that Fall was here because my favorite sport is being played in the regular season again: Football!
Anyone who knows me knows that not only am I a huge football fan, but I am also a rabid Steelers fan. If there is a game on, I'm there, watching it, screaming at the refs, or the players if necessary, with my pizza and beer. I love the Steelers. Seriously, nothing made me happier than their win at the SuperBowl last year. Which is why I woke up this morning to a serious disappointment.
Legs and I don't have cable yet, so I'm stuck not being able to watch the games unless I can find a sports bar showing the game. In D.C. no sports bar shows the Steelers, so alas I have to wait until I can check the NFL homepage the next morning. Now, I know the Steelers had a shitty pre-season. I was willing to overlook that because it was the preseason. There are a couple of new faces on the team, and I figured they were still trying to get adjusted to the change in roster. I seemed to be correct in my theory when they won their first game of the season against Miami: 28 to 17. That's a pretty good victory!
On my way in to work I heard something about a devastating loss, but I had tuned in to late to hear which team they were talking about. First chance I got, I checked the NFL page, and then I saw it. Shut-out. 9-0. Not only did they lose the game last night, they lost to the Jaguars with a score of 9-0!!??
They're playing the Bengals on Sunday at 1:00pm. Sunday is my birthday. Is it to big of a birthday wish to ask for a win?
PS~ Does anyone know where I can get a Steelers icon? Or could someone make me one?
Update: I now have a Steelers icon! I would still like to know if someone would be willing to make me another one out of a pic. I've got though.
