Patience Grasshopper

I am not a patient person.  I have hit refresh on my e-mail every five minutes today while waiting for more information on the mortgage application I filled out.  Hopefully I will hear something more concrete tomorrow.  Then I will know if I can move forward with this.

I thought that it would be too gloomy after work to ride but the sun is now shining and the wind seems to have died down so maybe I will go see Hero.  I didn't ride yesterday so he should probably get exercised tonight.  He doesn't get hot with time off but he gets kind of nervy.  Things are much calmer when he is ridden regularly which definitely hasn't been happening the last couple months.  I can't wait until the lights are installed in the indoor arena, then it won't be such a rush to get there after work.  The plan is to take him to the ABRA jackpot in High River on Sunday.

Thursday night Thistle and I start our obedience classes.  She is on the upper age limit for puppy classes but because she is small they are allowing her in.  The puppy classes are preferential because they involve socialization as well.  She is great with other dogs but you can never have to much socialization and I'm hoping to learn what to do if she or another dog reacts unfavourably in a situation.  We'll see how she is after the basic obedience but I will probably then take a class called Radical Recall as she is quite good at everything (sit, down, etc.) except for coming when called.  That of course being the most important skill for a dog.  I don't want to use her being a terrier as an excuse for her misbehaviour either.  It does make her more strong willed but it doesn't mean she can be disobedient.  Wish us luck.
