Another day, another dollar
Never enough dollars of course. Actually I'm not doing too badly right now. And soon it will be much better. I can't wait to start supersizing my savings when I start back at Nanton.
Of course I'm looking forward to much more than a bigger paycheck. A house with no one above or around me, quiet, less crime and my ponies right with me. And a dog. I can't wait. Its getting close too. February 19th is moving day! Mom and Dad are coming down and then I should have Jenn, Abby, Chris, Carla and maybe a couple others there to help.
Its time for someone to get one Lacey. I'm kind of at a crossroads now because I'm not sure that I'm a good enough rider to back her myself. We'll see how she is when I work her tomorrow. If she is good I may get on and off of her a few times and see how that goes. Who knows, she has a good basis maybe she'll be fine. I don't expect her to buck from the rider but she may give a good hop if she gets spooked. It wouldn't be good for her to learn she can unload people. She's very smart, which is great. But sometimes what she learns isn't what you want her to. lol.
Cody is working really well. He's very snappy in his turns and now just needs to start running in between barrels. He improved by 4/10 of a second from his first jackpot to his second. That may not sound like much, but in barrel racing thats huge. It will be interesting to see how he does this weekend.
I'm taking Friday afternoon off work to go up to Camrose. I'm going to take a team roping lesson at McCarroll's. If I'm going to have a rope horse then I had better start roping. I have no idea what I'm going to do with Luke. Part of me thinks that if I can get the right price for him I should sell him. The other part of me doesn't ever want to part with him. I'm not quite ready to give up on him as a barrel horse just yet either. I'd really like to see if he's figured out how to run a little more from this. We'll see. Its not as though I have people shoving cheques in my face so its not a pressing issue. And I have plenty of space to have 3 horses in Nanton if I want to ride that many.
