Someone on Wikipedia reverted a change I made, citing "original research." As if it wasn't plain to any serious student of the subject...fools! I'll show them all.
I finally got around to watching Evil Dead and Army of Darkness (Evil Dead II was not available), and I pretty much love how Ash apparently went completely ax crazy in between the two movies. Very good very bad movies, sad I hadn't seen them until now but not really inclined to see them again.
I've also listened to the new Decemberists album, The Hazards of Love, enough times to pass judgment.
And I think...I like it. I think. The first track really pushes the definition of "song", being kind of a three-minute drone, and
tahmthelame was right that they mostly blend together--not something I mind in and of itself, but that means you get a line stuck in your head, rather than a song. I cannot understand why Colin keeps doing duets against women with wispy, squeally voices; it's like a duet between a trumpet and a teakettle. Half of the appeal of Yankee Bayonet was that they finally got someone that meshed well. The only song I really love is Hazards of Love #3 (Revenge!) in no small part due to the creative sound effects. I expect I'll listen to it, but I'll probably never be like, "Ooh, you know what I really want to hear? The Hazards of Love!" Probably.
Also, I think I finally understand the storyline.
At work, I missed a round of layoffs, but there'll be no raises this year--which is fine with me, I think I'm overpaid anyway, but it's worrying since I spent my first three years of employment also not getting raises, and I probably ought to be further along by now. Interesting discussion of which current conditions were currently affecting us in positive and negative ways, though.
Stalled out on the scrapbook because I'm just not sure what to include at the change of year.
