Last week was not friendly to me, y'all. I blew a tire, lost water to my apartment for half a day, dumped my drink all over myself at a party, scraped my knuckles on some ice and missed a NaNo meetup due to inclement weather. It's like that luck vortex touched down again.
On the other hand, I finished
my NaNo novel about a week ago, at 36k, and went on to my usual fill-up-the-50k plan, which in this case means moving on to the
Hench sequel. Yes, it's cheating; no, I don't feel guilty about it. This will be my fourth NaNo win, I just finished my eighteenth book, I have nothing to prove. I expect to cross 50k either tonight or tomorrow, depending mostly on whether I watch cartoons tonight. ETA from the Future: Done!
TV! I'm off the Heroes wagon. It came to a point where I didn't care whether I saw the new episode; that point happened at the start of NaNo, so I haven't watched since. I don't really miss it.
Violin class ended with a recital (see above re: drink-dumping) but I'm going to meet up with some classmates tomorrow night to play, so...the music goes on, I guess.
My sister is writing a story about fraternity werewolves called
Fraternity Werewolves, you can go check that out.
I spent a lot of time this weekend purifying beeswax and making floaty candles out of old burnt-out candles. That was masses of fun. I used a mini-muffin tin for the beeswax, so now I have all these little wax discs that smell like honey. I just want to sit around and rub them. The idea was to make them into things, but I love them just like that.
And that's all the news in fits of print.
