Last night I went to return the rental violin and successfully haggled the price down to what I was willing to pay, which amounted to a substantial discount.
Guys, I haggled.
I've never done that before. It was kind of a rush! And now I own the violin with the low bridge which I'm told should be useful to learn on since it's sort of a worst-case situation.
