I don't know what you've heard about this cat that can predict death. Everyone has a different guess as to how Oscar the cat knows to cuddle up to the dying. So far, I have yet to see anyone put forth the obvious one: Oscar is killing people ( Read more... )

Good grief.

For something almost as eerie and in fact downright depressing, try Fred. In particular, scroll down and read the "Death" and "Trivia" sections. I boggled quietly for a minute.

You know, I even read about this cat and thought something was fishy, but didn't think of the obvious. I'll never doubt you in these matters: that cat has to be evil.

Ditto! I've read that before too, but with no idea...

But don't let the government know about your revelation - they may begin training cats such as Oscar as secret assasins for aging dictators...

Yeah, but if any bloodwork were done on any of the deceased, that would become immediately apparent. Heck, the hives that would show up would be really obvious, as would the unusually constrained breathing, and a dozen other symptoms as well. The people there would have to be idiots to not notice that.

*fails*

Yes, if they were actually allergic to cats, that would very quickly become obvious. However, by suggesting that the miracle comforter cat might be accidentally causing his patients' demise, a hypothetical tension between actual and presented events is created, thereby generating humor.

... Or at least, it was funny when Leno said it.

Nonsense. It's another case like in Bubba Hotep. There's a wussy mummy stalking the ill and the cat, an Egyptioan symbol of luck is trying (in vain mind you...) to save them. Start watching for Hieroglyphics in the crapper.

Did you know that Russia presented JFK with a puppy from a litter birthed by one of the space dogs?

Why, oh, why must you give me inspiration for RPG scenarios when I don't have the time to run them?? Why??
