I went with the Easter candy for breakfast. Sigh.
Last night I stayed up packing, watching an opaque-as-usual Lost, and trying to fix up my ancient laptop. It's so old that I can't even upgrade it--apparently Microsoft has stopped all support for Win 98, and I really need all those upgrades because it's back to what it was when I got it in, uh, 98. I'm even running IE 4.0 (I KNOW!) which is so old that I had trouble upgrading. I got Firefox but the OS is too old to run it, I try to upgrade the OS but the browser is too old to do it...etc. Any geek help would be hugely appreciated.
Easter was good. Nobody
broke her arm this year, which was great, and I'm linking that both for context and because it's a good story. It was really nice to be the only kid at home, actually. I never had the chance while I lived there and there's almost always someone else home at the same time as me.
As we say in the office, "This week is kicking my butt."
