My updates lately haven't been very interesting, but then neither has my life, as a whole.

March was supposed to come "in like a lion," I think, but this whole winter has been lamblike. It's dipped into occasional bitter temperatures, but the snowfall has been pathetic.

I got a new houseplant! At the grocery store they had a cart full of tiny pots with yellow flowers, and in the middle of it was one pot of bright scarlet. Instant love. I'm working to get it to the point where I can trim off the ragged leaves, and then it'll be stunning.

I borrowed the first three episodes of Six Feet Under from the library, and quite liked them. I remember all the hype, but had never seen the show--so I'm pleasantly surprised.

Mailed BPAL to a trio of beloved buyers. Is it ridiculous that I love packing those things? Give me an imp vial, some scotch tape, and some bubble-wrap, and I'm happy. Actually, I can be happy with just the bubble wrap. But taping imps is fun too.

One of the buyers was from Seattle. Resisted the urge to draw Steelers logos all over her envelope. :)

Yesterday I made cashew brittle, and, simultaneously, a huge mess. Five words: the candy thermometer fell in. As if that weren't enough, it turns out that my plastic spoons melt over 280 F. Now there are little black bits in my candy, which is why I couldn't bring it in to work today or take it to bible study last night. I shall have to eat it all and risk plastic poison on my own.

Or I could just break off the parts with plastic in them. No one would know.

I went to the park on Sunday to try to learn to rollerblade. I've done this multiple times in the past three years, and every time I forget how much it hurts. This isn't "Oh, I'm using muscles I hardly use," this is "MY ANKLES ARE FALLING OFF." I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I am pretty sure I shouldn't be crippled by pain every few paces. Maybe if the community college offers classes again this year, they won't cancel them this time.
