I would like to write some BPAL reviews.
Red Lantern: This is the one that inspired me to write reviews, because it is so interesting. Wet, it's all caramel. Five minutes after I put it on, this smoky scent came out--the golden tobacco, I'm guessing. The smokiness really works on me (see: Djinn, Devil's Night) so that's lovely. Now, an hour later, the opium is out, the caramel is gone, with juuuust enough sweetness to keep tying it all together. This is a great one. It earns a dipper cap!
Smut: Instant love in the bottle and on the skin. One of the best scents evar.* For those of you who haven't been hearing raves over this for the past month: boozy, musky, sweet.
La Fee Verte: Sadly, not very potent on me. I can't even think offhand how to describe it, it left so little impression. Needs a second try.
Hellion: On the other hand...Hellion was more my speed. A very smooth berries-and-leather blend (my first leather, until I picked up De Sade), this is masculine but wearable. Bombastic. Can I use that word to describe a smell?
This is exactly the opposite, by the way, of how I expected La Fee Verte and Hellion to be. Now I crave more Hellion...wonder if I can get someone to take the statue off my hands?
Snow White: This is like the most popular Yule scent ever, how can it go so wrong on me? From wand to drydown it was nothing but pale Play-doh. I wanted to love this. And now I have one bottle for sale.
Ides of March: Mostly basil, nothing special. Will probably sell.
Shub-Niggurath: I cannot believe I got a brimming-full imp of this for the usual price of an LE imp. This is one of the most sought oils in BPAL history, it goes for exorbitant prices (when it shows up at all). And now I know why. It starts with the ginger kick of G'Poppet, but instead of slinking into bitterness it settles down to this sweet, creamy spice. (Not creamy in a Milk Moon type way, but in a very well-blended way--no note stands out, they all work together.) I WILL NEVER LET THIS GO. And only wear it on the most special occasions.
Khajurajo: Or -ho, however you want to spell it. I had high hopes for this, and it smells nice, but, sadly, not particularly special. Honey doesn't really make an impression on me, I could hardly pick up that note. Again, it's lovely, but nothing I would walk a mile in the snow to get. I'll keep it, age it, and then probably boost it. (See also: Dia de los Muertos)
GC's I've been enjoying lately: Aeval, Muse, Scherezade, Bon Vivant
That reminds me that I have to give some love to my frimps, some of which still languish untested. Heresy!

Megan, I'll make a list of the ones I'm going to get rid of, then you pick a few that interest you, and I'll just bring those next weekend. I don't think it's even physically possible to fit the entire collection into my car anymore.
