Tewesdaye
Surely Tuesday the 13th has to be bad luck somewhere. *rubs temples*
I got my car fixed, flushed, and formatted, and for reasons unfathomable they gave me a twenty-dollar discount. WIN. I got home to find my Christmas BPAL order had come in--double win. They left out a bottle, but I got what I need for the office gift swap, and I'll be emailing today to see if I can get that other bottle sent soon. And there were frimps! Some of which will be sneaking into tahmthelame's Christmas pile.
Settling back into the daily word count, picking up that book I left off before NaNo. I'm 38.5 with a goal of 70k-and-finished by next Valentine's Day. (I like to pick holidays for deadlines; that way the whole world counts down with me.) It won't stretch that long, but that just gives me some leeway over Christmas week.
In mass-media news, I finished The Eyre Affair despite the fact that I'm totally not smart enough to read it. My knowledge of British history is just negligible. I've never even read Jane Eyre; it's a good thing I remembered my sister's summary of the storyline after she went to the musical, because otherwise I would have understood nothing. Okay, that's exaggeration. I recognized the daffodil poem and know the literary origins of Mycroft, the Shakespeare debate, etc etc. It was mostly the not-knowing-what-happened-at-Waterloo that frustrated me. Grant me some hyperbole here. I do enjoy time theory, though. And dodos.
