...Harry's cousin, Roast Beefy...
I made the most stupendous roast beef last night.
1 hunk o'meat (eye round or something)
10-12 new potatoes, with skin
1 c. red cooking wine
1 t. thyme
1 t. rosemary
1/2 t. pepper
1 t. salt
1 T. dried onion flakes
1 beef flavoring mix from a bag of Ramen noodles :)
Brown beef on all sides. Cook in crockpot on low for 9 hours. Devour like a lion who also likes potatoes.
It occurred to me later that you could chuck the noodles in for the last 10 minutes of cooking and have those on the side, but I had thrown them out by then, and it was 9 at night anyway (so my beef cooked for 13 hours...to no detriment).
I read the news on the radio last night 6-8. Then as we were leaving the station, the TV listings came on, and I was like, "Holy crap--that's me too." I had prerecorded them the week before. Poor listeners had to be getting sick of my voice. I'm up again next Thursday.
