Tonight, Tonight

My parents are coming to dinner tonight.

I'm surprisingly excited. I know that spells doom because the more excited I get about something, the worse it turns out, but I am really looking forward to it. I've been getting ready for days now. They haven't been to see my apartment since July; between the awesome discarded shelf and a few wall hangings, it's really looking nice.

On the menu is crockpot chicken cacciatore; frozen-then-microwaved green beans; homemade (slightly old) pepper-cheese bread; and homemade berry pie, which has flakier crust than I ever dreamed possible. Best pie crust ever. Emeril IS my hero. Thatched top crust, because I too am a master chef. Oh yeah, and some pasta I guess.

Hung out with Becca and Jason after Bible study again, which hopefully will become a regular thing; Jason, who turns out to live in my apartment complex, said that I should feel free to stop by and drop off any leftover pie. In related news, there's a chance that Lindsey from church might be teaching me to rollerblade. This uptick in the social life is disconcerting (see the doom rule, above) but not necessarily unpleasant.

Last night I listened to a little more Wizard People, Dear Reader. Always a good time.
