Smith Rock '09

Terrebonne is world renowned for the Smith Rock. People come from all over the world to climb it. We kids used to walk up the stairs to the top, which takes hours.

Smith, in all its splendor. I circled the puny rock we actually climbed.

Hiking.

Going to anchor (at the top)

"You'd better not kill my kid."

What is Gabe doing with that harness haha!!!

Gabe learning the big boy knots.

Here we go.

Oops! A valiant attempt.

The "Power Hoist"

Cameron administering a lesson on grip.

"Put your foot HERE."

Getting the hang of it! (with the assistance of power hoist)

I love this photo.

Look at you go!!

Taking a break.

Learning to rappel.

"Put your feet out!" It's hard to trust that rope.

Okay, go back up.

Look at that smile. Rock star!

MACHINE

Almost to the top.

Thoroughly impressed.

Time to come down. Gabe was scared.

Rappelling down.

Local climber giving Gabe tips.

Almost done!

"Put your feet out!"

Finished!

My turn. Don't I look excited.

Cam switching anchors (So Gabe can do a harder route!)

Gabe starts free climbing like a crazy psycho.

Gabe's second route. Hearing it was his first time, an experienced older climber: "This is called envy."

Zippity-do-da.

MONKEY

Third (hardest) route. Gabe cried at the first hole so we let him come down.

I believe this photo speaks for itself.
