We are moved. Geez! I haven't updated in so long. So much has been going on. That week before moving always seems the worst. I am so glad it is over. We didn't have anyone lined up to help us. Everyone was busy or bailed. I was ok with it being me and G doing it except we get kinda fussy with him not wanting me to carry anything and me doing the same... lol. It becomes a competition on who can help the other more which I guess is kind of cute. But John Voyles and Cheryl pulled through! They helped us finish loading and then Kyle showed up and helped us all unload. THanks to awesome friends and two amazing soul mates we were moved in a total of 5 hrs and 45 min. Yea, I timed it for fun. I was so impressed.
I am taking my time and enjoying unpacking and decorating since I made sure to have a couple off days after the move. We are absolutely broke now... On moving day we went to look at mattresses first. G wanted a new one since the old one was just a basic spring one. This guy has a furniture store right next to Schmidt in New Albany. His name is Butch and he is awesome. Buy furniture form him. He gave us a hell of a deal compared to everywhere else we looked and delivered our bed THAT NIGHT! Its a double pillow top so if it starts to sink you just flip it. Has a 10 yr warranty. Is HUGE! And was $600... But originally it was like $1100. G is very happy and for this I am very happy. lol.
Next order of business is getting a fridge for our cool mini kitchen downstairs, some area rugs, and maybe a new gamer chair for me!
I really like our new place. Donna and Troy made us Tacos and Tostadas last night and we sat and watched The Walking Dead. THen we ate leftover wedding cake. How is it possible that I feel I have gained weight when I have been so active?!I blame the wedding cake...
Today we are hooking up the electric fence for Sookie and finishing the last of the unpacking.
Troy is letting us use this GIANT screen TV down here since they have no where to put it. I am stoked to play Fable on 60 Inches of awesomeness today!
Oh, Thanksgiving was good. My mom, of course, went all out and made everything she could. I made an excellent ham. We ate at mom's and hung out and then went to Grandmas. She ended up giving us a couch and chair, all retro style, that we picked up on moving day. She has gotten so old an gentle. I am hanging out with my family a lot more these days and loving it. It was so funny, Gerald got into a debate with My uncle Kevin ( the one who is super conservative and a model republican) about the hypocrisy of college and the brainwashing of our youth and how society is being taken over by the left winged yata yata yata. I was really scared at first, but Gerald handled it so well! He is so calm and patient and understanding that even when my uncle gets heated and shitty, G is like a zen master. I was so fucking amazed and proud. When we were getting ready to leave, Kevin sat him down and apologized for being so confrontational and defensive and told G how much he respected him for his views and the way he argued them! He continued to tell him how regardless of their difference of opinion, he really genuinely likes him and hopes to discuss more at a later date. He told G he hopes he decides to stay in the family, permanently. Wowsers. My grandma couldn't believe it either. My uncle has rarely given his own family compliments or encouragement. It means a lot to me. It really does. But more so it made me see G in such a different light, powerful, confident, strong, and able. Ugh. I love that I swoon after my own boyfriend. My grandma apparently swoons also. Its a little strange watching her practically flirt with G. Lol Grabbing his knee and hugging him a million times. Gah!
It makes me really sad though that I won't get to go see G's family with him next week. We just couldn't afford another plane ticket right now. :( I really like his dad though. It's like between the two of us, we have a complete family! lol. I'm sure we will visit in the summer also.
Well, more later. Happy Holidays and junk!
Oh yea, and i bought my roller derby pads and helmet the other day! I am all geared up for practice Thursday! Beatrix Plotter on the loose!!!
