Coheed, Deftones, and Zombies...
This weekend was hella long. It rocked. Gerald had Friday thru Today off of work. Friday we woke up super early and went to pick up our rental car that Rachel's mom rented for our trip. We left home around 1pm and headed on an awesome road trip. We talked and listened to music the whole way there and I got to read my new roller derby book from Amazon. We checked out the Market while we were there. There were all these little authentic resturaunts, Indian, Italian, Hispanic, Greek, all types of food. The Chickpea Masala I got was to die for. I was bad and got some Saag Paneer and manicotti also. The Manicotti had sundried tomatoes and artichokes in with the ricotta. OMG!
Gerald loved it too. We got to the show pretty early so we went to the merch tables. I got to meet The Dear Hunter AND the lead singer of Circa Survive!!! So effing cool. I'm wearing my The Dear Hunter shirt now. I also got a pair of "Everything Evil" booty shorts and a Coheed necklace. Gerald got a Chris Penny drumbook and DVD. The show was so laid back and awesome. I was so glad Rachel was there and I saw Ashley and her b/f. Its always nice singing into someone else's face! Gerald had a blast.
Saturday we had a radical 80's party. It may have gotten a little out of hand. Jay scared the shit out of me in the middle of the night. Belligerent! lol Matt Knoy stayed over and Travis, Mark, and us all got B-dubs together.
Sunday was the Zombie walk. Fucking awesome! Last year I didn't get to go... I had a party the same night. It was awesome. I think all of our costumes were excellent. We had a great group with us too! Sarah Harley, I so love you. Afterwords we all went to Waffle House and scared the shit out of the old folks. They ended up just getting real curious. I can't wait until next year, I have some awesome ideas.
Monday was a recovery day. I made food and we lounged about and watched The Last Exorcist with Sarah. It was pretty good. The end was kind of funny. But I still love all of those movies.
Tuesday was Dugan's funeral. That was surprisingly really good. I was so happy to see Jess and Ali who I missed so much. I tend to see more of Jess though. I missed Ali's V8 Juice smell. Everytime we see eachother we are always crying! Damnit! I was so glad Nikki was with us and we went with her. I feel like the two of us together can conquer anything. It was good to cry and let it out and hear good things about Dugan. I have to say that the minister was a fucking idiot tho. What? So if we don't accept Jesus Christ as our lord and savior then we don't get to see our friend in the after life? What kind of crock of shit is that?! Dugan never believed that. Dugan believed in acceptance and love. A lot of what this man of God said made me very angry and very disgusted. It sucks that there are people out there spreading that message. Get your Faith out of your wallet.
After the funeral we went to Denny's. Much needed. I love drinking coffee and talking with my Nikki. We have fun. That night we went and saw DEFTONES! AND BARONESS! I really wasn't all that stoked about the Deftones, never really been much of a fan. But I was amazed. It was soooo gooood. I haven't seen a pit that brutal in years! I was kind of sad that I didn't get to be a part of it. I was still all dressed up from the funeral... Baroness was kick ass, just like the other times I have seen them. I am so glad G got a shirt. Their art work is so legendary! Sarah got in the pit! Dress and all! I kind of wish I would have... :( She looked so awesome getting her ass kicked. lol. She got punched in the face! After the show we went to Mag Bar to calm down with a couple of drinks and hang with Nikki, then go to her house and play with DOBBY! THE CUTEST CAT EVER! THen home to lay in bed and watch Nip Tuck and make snuggles, like spider monkeys.
I recently decided to stop taking birth control. Don' Panic! I am by no means trying to get knocked up, no effing way. I am simply done with these horse hormones fucking with my weight, moods, and menstrual cycle. Its bullshit. Gerald and I are using condoms. They really aren't so bad, I don't notice much of a difference except virtually no cleanup. But G is considering a vasectomy. I suggested it since it is easier to reverse than me getting my tubes tied when and if we decide to have children. Its a big step. I love him, it just seems like a much safer option. I really am happy either way. I am in time with the moon again and not as cranky and I don't cramp as much. I feel good. He is so supportive too. So proud to back me up on my ideas and beliefs.
This September, near my bday we are talking about getting that cabin we were wanting to get. But I think we are going to get one in Red River GOrge this time!!!! Sarah and him are trying to plan it. I can't wait to run thru the woods stark naked! Well, here's some new music for you kiddos. More news later.
