So last night was sort of bitter sweet. We went to see Mest and of course the show was incredible, but at the same time there was this part of me that was sad because it's probably the last time we're ever going to see them. Even though Meagan insists that we're going to Chicago to see the last show of this tour. I'll let you know if that one actually pans out.
However, despite the sadness the show was amazing. We were pretty much in the first row which let's face it you can't not be for something like this. Tony's arms pretty much need to be made into a museum exhibit somewhere because damn. DAMN, for real. Matt wasn't there but it's understandable what with him having a baby and a family and all that grown up stuff now. They played pretty much every song that I wanted to hear. And of course they dedicated Jaded to Good Charlotte. That made me smile like you wouldn't believe.
What else...Oh Tony gave some kid in the crowd his beer and then when the kid asked him to sign in he goes "No I'm gonna play a fuckin' show, how about that?" Amazing. Also there was a couple guys who tried to stage dive. Only one was successful. The other one (the one closest to me) jumped but as soon as he was in the air the crowd parted like the Red Sea and he hit the floor. Am I the only person whose first reaction would be to laugh? No? Good. I mean I stopped once I saw that he was bleeding cause that's not funny. But just the perfect timing of it all was the humorous part. I could almost time the second when his mind goes "oh fuck" right before he hit the ground.
We didn't get lost, which is a new thing for us because any time we go anywhere for a show we manage to get ourselves all turned around somehow.
Also, we walked past Nick on the street but didn't say anything to him (I smiled and he smiled back) because he had a takeout container in his hand and I didn't want to interupt his dinner, that would just have been rude. He also attempted to do "Stomachache," but had a super bad sore throat and couldn't really talk. Awww :(.
Some guy kept pretty much groping me everytime he passed me on his way back out after crowd surfing, but whatever, it's expected and he was semi hot.
Tony took his shirt off about half way through the set and there was a collective jaw drop around the room I think. Did I mention Damn? Cause yeah...he's pretty hot.
Funniest part of the night, aside from the whole guy face planting thing? Was Tony explaining to the crowd how the encore was going to go. "
"Okay so here's what going to happen...We're going to play a song...then we're going to go stand on the side of the stage for like...30 seconds...you guys start going 'Mest, Mest, Mest..." and we'll come back and play another song...sound good?" I don't think he could be a bigger ham if he tried, seriously. ♥
Once again they managed to put on one of the best live shows I've ever been to and they will be sorely missed. ♥♥♥
And now I need to go bathe or something cause I smell like an old bar and that weird smell I only get after a show. I'm out.
