What did you do in 2017 that you'd never done before?
Visited Korea with my daughter. Took my daughter to college. Visited Colorado. Had a car accident (not my fault!). Started an investment account. Studied Japanese. Saw a chiropractor. Smoked hookah with my daughter. Wore a wig out of the house. Bought an expensive wig.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't have any last year but I have some for this year. I want to prioritize Japanese learning and send real time, effort, brainpower, and possibly money on my blog and channel.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Naw

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
Korea and Canada

6. What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?
100+ followers on YouTube :)

7. What dates from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Hmmm. No particular dates I dont think.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I started a blog, started a YouTub channel, started studying Japanese. I made financial investments so I can retire one day. I flew my mom down to see me and finally meet my husband.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I didn't finish my novel but I think I just have to admit it's no longer a priority for me. So, that aside, I didn't do as much for my physical health as I should have.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes, my neck. That's how I ended up seeing the chiropractor, which changed everything

11. What was the best thing you bought?
A new Macbook

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Chad's

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The conservative right

14. Where did most of your money go?
Skin care. This laptop. Korea. (We didn't actually spend that much while we were there, but.).Eating out.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Visiting Seoul with Karinna. Karinna coming home from college. Linda visiting me! My mom visiting me! Visiting Karinna with Linda! Turning Karinna's room into a guest bedroom. South Padre trip with Karinna. Christmas break. Zelda Breath of the Wild.

16. What song will always remind you of 2016?
Despacito

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier. My marriage has improved SO MUCH and I'm finally in a place where I fully believe that we have a future together.
b) thinner or fatter? Fatter but roughly the same.
c) richer or poorer? Poorer. I keep marrying men who don't know how to save money.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Creating things for myself and others that will propel me toward figuring out what I Want to do with my life.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Nothing. Wasting time. I goof off online way too much when I could be recording videos, writing scripts, publish blog posts, taking photos for instagram, etc.

It was very low-key with lots of presents and napping.

21. What was your favourite month of 2017?
March.

22. Did you fall in love in 2017?
I won't say I fell in love, but I will say that I fell back in love with my marriage. Chad and I had some rough times but we also had a breakthrough wherein I think we both realized how to stop taking each other for granted. I think we are in a much better place these days and I am so glad I stuck it through.

23. How many one-night stands?
None

24. What was your favourite TV programme?
American Gods

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.

26. What was the best book you read?
Americanah. Apparently I only read like 6 books this year. Ok, let's add that to our list: read a lot fucking more.

27. What was your greatest entertainment discovery?
Zelda: Breath of the Wild

28. What did you want and get?
A new laptop

29. What did you want and not get?
A YouTube following.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Get Out.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you
I turned 41. The night before, I took the kids to Hopdoddy, as is our tradition. For my birthday, we went to some ultra shitty restaurant in the Domain. It was raining and not great. Chad gave me a bottle of $400 scotch and a remote control vibrator, which...I hope he's not disappointed when it never even makes it out of the box it came in.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I could have figured out this social media thing. I need to be famous.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2017?
Yoga pants and pajamas. There was not a lot of leaving the house.

34. What kept you sane?
My improved marriage and Chad's new job

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I love Alex Rami Gaming and Matt from Demolition Ranch

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Twitter. Everything is always on fire on Twitter.

37. Who did you miss?
Karinna.

38. Who were the best new people you met?
Im gonna go with my chiropractor, but Kana is also a good answer, except I didn't officially meet her this year.

39. Final thoughts?
2017 was a substantially better year than 2016, even with Karinna moving out (sort of ) because of my improved marriage and Chad's new job. Those things really did make the year more bearable.  I had professional goals this year which I didn't hit at all, but I also didn't really take it seriously.

Right now, I'm thinking very seriously about how im going to afford to live in Japan for a year without working, and so im really starting to ramp up this skincare consultant thing. I really just want to create great content and be considered an expert. I guess I want to be a skin care celebrity. That's really where my head's at. That's probably stupid, but honestly, I think I can do it.
