My husband has been trying for a few years to get me to let go of my GTX. I have aggressively resisted every one of his attempts. The car is worth so much more to me than it is to anybody else, so just selling it wont work. I've come up with a new idea! But first a little back story,...

I've wanted a new kitten ever since I was 17 and had to move out of my moms house and loose my cat. Shawn doesn't want a cat, so I begged unsuccessfully for awhile and then just gave up. That kind of thing quickly turns to nagging and I don't want to be a nag so I stopped asking. Years went by. No cat. I'm 33 by the way.

A few months ago he got a car sales job. The car lot has semi wild cats, which is common. One day he came home and handed me a large bag with a kitten in it. I was delighted! Turns out the lot cats had kittens and momma cat suffered an unfortunate exit. It was so young I had to bottle feed it. I cared for it until it could eat solid food. He was constantly under my feet, and absolutely adorable. I wanted a car themed name for him but my husband resisted any such thing. He would rather our kitten be named Floyd than Octane. He was found under a Subaru, on a Subaru car lot, so we agreed on Rex. A perfect display of compromise. My husband, our two sons, and myself all thought Rex was just about the coolest thing ever. We all loved that kitten!

We had to get some construction work done on our house so we entrusted a friend to catsit Rex until the work was done. Well, she hijacked our cat. She refused to give him back. For reasons I don't fully understand we were never able to show up at her house and retrieve him. No kitten for me, again. 15 years of trying to get my husband to let me have a cat,.... had one for a couple months, and now I'm back to zero. Only my husband is even more jaded now.

I'm thinking of a new compromise now. There is this awesome, beautiful, fantstic breed of cat called a Savannah. I've never seen a more gorgeous cat in my entire life. That's not saying much since it's a newer breed, but I'm still blown away by this cat. I want one and I want it bad! They are expensive. They run $900 to $4000. That doesn't include initial vet costs. But, I would trade my GTX for a Savannah cat, with shots, and chipped.

And so I ask you, my friends, does that seem fair to you? If the GTX was just sold the money would get absorbed into life and I would get nothing. At least this arrangement would get a friend of the family for a good 17-20 years.

Good deal?
Good wife?
Good comprimise?
